Experimenting with fonts and logos- Digipak Planning

Below are some of the different font that I have tried for creating the logo for the band so that I can review them and chose the best font for the band name. I also used different designs of the logo based on what would suit the font the best and this is what I have come up with. This will help me as I can later chose from one of these logos to decided which will be the logo to go on the front of the Digipak and it has also helped me to gain knowledge about how to use design tools such as serif which will later help me to edit and create my digipak.

For the band logo design I will chose one of these 4 fonts and they will then be put on the front of the digipak. It is important that I get the front right as well as the design of the logo as it needs to be appropriate for/ suit the genre of Alternative rock.
I will chose my image for the front of the digipak and then trial different logos to see which one suites the best.

Impact:
This logo/font is good for the genre as it is similar to bands like Oasis as the used quite simple blocked font for their logo as I know from previous research a but unlike them I have chosen to have the first letter of every word as a capital letter. Oasis have the whole word in lower case which challenges the conventions of society and so I have taken inspiration font this by having ever letter as a capital letter. Along with this is have erased some of the letters and background so that it creates the idea of some disruption which is also associated with the genre. Finally I added in a X to be a symbol associated with the band like the smiling face is associated with Nirvana.

Stencil:
This logo/font is very similar to the first logo as it is blocked letters and there is some of the background image erased however there is no logo as through looking at other bands in the genre I have seen how most often the logo is kept simple with no images and not many effects on the font so that is what I have attempted to do when using the font and Logo.

Algerian:
For this font and logo I thought that I would switch the background colours and the font colours around so that the font was in black and the background was white. I used a font which stood out more as it is 3D so because of this I didn't erase any of the font. I have used the theme of having the cross again as part of the logo.

Elephant:
For this font/logo I have kept it very simple like many bands do with their logo within the genre, however I have added in two lines coming off the logo to suggests that they are the strings but they arn't attached to anything else and therefore is a reference to the bands name ("no strings attached").The logo is kept simple as it is just a black background with big white font inside stating the name of the band.
